What QuantityWise stores, what third parties may store, and how to control both. Last updated 2026-09-18.
The short version. The calculators run entirely in your browser. Your measurements, prices and results are never sent to us — they are saved in your own browser so you do not have to retype them, and you can clear them at any time. We do not ask for an account and we do not collect your name or email unless you email us. Advertising on the site is served by Google, which does use cookies; that part is described in full below.

2. Information the site itself collects
Calculator inputs
The calculators are written in JavaScript and run on your device. Nothing you type is transmitted to us. To save you retyping, the last values you entered on a calculator are stored in your browser's local storage under keys beginning mt:. This data stays on your device, is readable only by this site in that browser, and is not synchronised anywhere. Clearing your browser's site data for this domain removes it, as does the Reset button on any calculator.
Preferences
Your choice of metric or imperial units, and your response to the cookie notice, are stored the same way and for the same reason.
Server logs
The site is served by a hosting provider that keeps standard access logs, which typically include the IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, the referring page and the browser's user-agent string. These are used to operate and secure the site and to diagnose faults. We do not use them to build a profile of you.
If you email us, we hold that message and your address for as long as needed to deal with it and to keep a record of any correction you prompted. We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not share it.
3. Advertising
This site carries advertising served by Google AdSense.
- Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.com.
- Third-party vendors and ad networks other than Google may also serve ads on this site and may use their own cookies to do so.

We do not pass any calculator input, measurement or price you enter to any advertiser, and advertisers have no access to the local storage described in section 2.
4. Analytics
If and when analytics are used on this site, they will be configured to collect aggregate traffic data only — pages viewed, referring source, country, device type — without cross-site tracking. This section will name the provider before any such measurement begins.

6. Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland
Where required, a consent management platform certified by Google is used to obtain consent for advertising cookies and for the use of personal data for personalised advertising, before any such cookie is set. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the same notice. Where you decline, advertising is limited to non-personalised ads, which still use cookies for frequency capping and fraud prevention but not to build a profile.
Our legal bases are: your consent, for advertising cookies and any non-essential storage; and legitimate interests, for operating and securing the site (server logs) and for responding to correspondence.
You have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict processing, and to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. Because we do not operate accounts, the only personal data we are likely to hold about you is an email you sent us. Requests go to [email protected].
7. Visitors in California
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising except through the advertising described in section 3, which you can opt out of using the controls listed there and through any "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" mechanism presented on the site. You have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.
8. Children
This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions that set that threshold). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Data retention
Local storage persists in your browser until you clear it. Server logs are retained for a limited period by the hosting provider for operational and security purposes. Email correspondence is kept for as long as it remains relevant to the site's accuracy record.
10. International transfers
The site is served from a global content delivery network, and our advertising partner operates internationally. This means data described in this policy may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, under the safeguards those providers apply.
11. Links to other sites
Pages here link to manufacturer data sheets, standards bodies and other external resources. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for their content or their practices.
12. Changes to this policy
Changes are published on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes — for example, introducing analytics or an additional advertising partner — will be described here before they take effect rather than after.
